The Digest add-on for Better Notifications for WP allows you to group multiple notifications of the same type that were due to be sent out individually into a single notification that can be sent out once hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly.
It also allows you to limit sending a notification for multiple post/page/custom post type updates only once, as opposed to multiple times (one notification for each update made).

How it Works

After installing and activating the add-on, you’ll be given a few new options when setting up or editing a notification. These consist of:

• Digest Frequency: No Digest, Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly
• Digest Subject: This will be the subject of the digest email.

Once a notification is set as a digest, the subject line and message bodies of all notifications that should have sent out during the chosen digest frequency will be grouped together into a single notification message body instead.

There are no limits on the number of digests you can set up so you can easily group new post notifications into a single digest notification, post update notifications into a separate digest notification, and so on.

Example

For example, if you run a busy website that publishes new posts multiple times an hour, instead of sending out emails every time a new post is published, you can group these into a single notification which is sent out once a day instead. The subject will be specified in the new Digest Subject field (e.g. ‘Latest Posts of the Day’) and all ‘New Post Published’ notification subject and message body fields will be grouped into the message body of the digest email.
